Day for a Sourcer-

Call them any name Sourcer, Internet researcher, Internet hunter, talent developer, namer generator, search wizard or may be even pipeline developer- all they do is find candidates using Internet.

So what it takes to be the best? Its always about a process on what you do-

Here's the 10 best practice for an Internet Sourcer.

1) As a analyst and you need to be an expert in gathering what the hiring manager needs.
2) Plan the search; Starting with easy approaches and moving to the hard part.
3) With your blueprint in front of you --Look Internally, which includes referrals ,Internal, external database(yes most recruiters still don't know how to search in a board)
and free boards. Automate your process through Oxygen,Infogist,Talenthook, Eclipse- May be you already have the perfect match in one of your folder.
4)Advanced searches on all major search engines-
5) Moving to Social network sites-Linkedin, Ryze,Spoke,Zoominfo
6) Discussion communities, Forums, Blogs, Target associations, create agents, alerts, rss- Take a break
7) Track your list, emails , names generated
8) Start calling, track the call- call again. I always say to myself the candidate must have stepped out so I should call again.
9) Take another break before sending the qualified resumes to the recruiter.
10) Phone and Track again - remember OFCCP?

If nothing's working go back to basics and start the process all over again or may be you want to take a different route here and call Maureen Sharib to work for you.

I liked your comment, "If nothing's working go back to basics and start the process all over again..." It's hard, but sometimes necessary! You usually need to start from scratch, and that's the hardest part of all - throwing the baby out w/ the bathwater!
