Spock - People search

Spock

I am sure its from Star Trek fans ............
Like so many ... Spock is about  locating information on people. Spock.com scours through social networking websites such as MySpace, Friendster and Bebo.
The best thing on this search engines is about (I am skeptical) ignoring duplicates searches and tag searchs.

The site is still in beta testing and you have to request an invitation to try it out (I got 100 invite left .. shoot me a email if you need one). The site is slow.. atleast when I checked.

There are few ways to search on Spoke :-

=>Name search - Simple enough
=> Tag Search - Search by interest.. When I did java and developer in New York the results were very less (14) .

Skip that search for now but liked the tag search...

As per Yahoo news privacy is not a big concern as  "Spock.com allows a person to have his or her profile removed and ask the website to determine where the information came from"..umm

Each Spock.com user will have an "authority ranking" that can go down or may be the profile would be deleted if the information provided for a profile is rejected. What it means is they have to police a lot of profiles. I think thats going to a problem.

It has a great looking interface BUT if I am looking for someone well known I can easily google him/her.. how do I find the unknown or rather the non- prominent people?

Even though it claims to have a huge database I don't feel the kick yet for the 100 million people it claims to be.. .........May be in future

P.S :- How to use Spock..Right now its in beta ; its slow and you need a lot of patience... other than that
here's the userguide for you -
