Top 10 - when Candidates / Resumes Annoy me
1) $80/Hr doesn't mean $160K.
2) I won't mind if you don't shake my hand.. really. I know you have to do it but ..
3) Don't bother attaching the cover letter especially on emails. I hardly read them. That goes for "Objectives" as well.
Warning:- Others might like it.
4) Most of us are bad speller and that's why MS has a spell checker - Use it before sending me your resume.
5) I understand you want to be a CEO and that you are very smart but if you have 1-2 yrs experience please don't apply on every positions you see.
5) I really wish but I can't respond to every e-mail even after working 10 hrs a day but surely would respond if I have an update on the interviews or if I speak with you.
6) Don't exaggerate or write half-truths or rather lie (Especially IT). We are a skeptical bunch.
7) Don't want to know or care about your height ,weight or hobbies if they don't pertain to the job you looking for.
8) I understand you are great with graphics and fonts but all you need is a regular font on a print lay out with viewzoom 100% and aligned left.
9)Don't think that I am in this profession for lack of choice. Most recruiters are smart and well educated. I really like what I do. Did you seen my qualifications?
10) Have some spine and stick to your word. Avoid saying that you wanted $5K more after the offer.
