Job Alert(s) on Cell (Mobile) Phones
Job Alert(s) on Cell (Mobile) Phones
Eureka.. nah not really!
But thought about something. Almost all companies have Email job alerts on their career pages.
How about putting a job alert for your cell phone?
Its so easy and I think its a good idea. I am really not sure if any companies are doing that. Let me know if you know of any?
I think after skills the first criteria anyone looking for a job would be to target companies based on location/area.
For Ex:- If I live with in 30 miles of 07645 area code I would like to have a job at KPMG-
WHY KPMG?
- Fortune 100
- 50 best places to Launch a Career by Business Week
- Computerworld - One of the"100 Best Places to Work in IT"
- Working Mothers 10 Best Co
Wow! so I really want to work at that firm ; so I go to there career page and look for jobs but I don't see anything thats interesting to me right now and I sign on job alert which can send me a email as soon as they have an opening matching my skills or may be I can sign up if they had a mobile (cell) alerts which immeditely sends me a SMS as soon they have an opening.
Why not SMS? The Gen Y would love that but then they are always on top of their emails as well.
Career Builder has the service where they will send you a text message with the latest job openings, based on your interests, daily or weekly. So why aren't corporate sites implementing this idea?
